Julien Baker brings her second record, the universally acclaimed Turn Out The Lights, to Manchester’s Gorilla this September.

The Tennesse born singer-songwriter is known for emotionally intense, cathartic and vulnerable songs, a trait which bleeds into her raw live performances. These tracks have helped Baker earn places on several albums of the year lists including Pitchfork, Line of Best Fit and many more, sending Baker straight to the upper echelons of singer-songwriters.

She was last over back in March for a tour of some of England’s more prestigious venues – including Manchester’s own Bridgwater Hall – but this new tour is set to see her hit more traditional venues, with the Gorilla stop set to be a particular treat.

Whilst the setlist on Baker’s last tour was quite minimal, only playing around 8 songs per show, this is set to be a more substantive show. The show will draw from both Turn Out The Lights and her debut album Sprained Ankle, both of which were huge critical success.
