Salford's premiere day-festival is set to return for another year, promoting the brightest talent in the local area and beyond with one of their biggest line-ups to date.

The now-traditional May bank holiday take-over of Chapel Street features more promoters than ever, including old favorites Now Wave, Hey! Manchester, Grey Lantern, Comfortable on a Tightrope, Fat Out & friends, and Bad Uncle, along with newcomers Strange Days, Manchester venue Band on the Wall, tropical-heads Regal Disco, and the already infamous party-starters Thirsty Girls Collective, along with Liverpool's Invisible Wind Factory.

This huge host of promoters means, as usual, a massive variety of acts across almost every sub genre of music you could conceive. Catch Sleazy F and Dripset headlining fourfivestudios2 for Tru Luv - who last year picked out Manchester's bright new hope IAMDDB for a slot.

Over at the Kings Arms, Fat Out are bringing a collection of synthy, industrial, techno and dance inspired acts to the Sounds crowd; with every performance set to bring immersive stage shows, from dream-pop duo Godspeed You! Peter Andre, to the noisey and experimental AJA and headliner Mun Sing, who blend techno with brash industrial, there's something for all fans of dance-y tracks on this stage.

For those who prefer their heavy music delivered by guitars, promoters The Beauty Witch are bringing a stunning collection of metal influenced acts to Salford – and few are coming with more acclaim than Manchester’s Pijn. According to the Independent’s Remfrey Dedman, the band evokes a sound as “diametrically opposed as Sigor Ros and Cult of Luna,” - with reviews like this, we're willing to bet they'll draw a pretty hefty crowd to the Angel Centre.

Alongside the tunes, there's sure to be plenty of exciting art displays - with Salford being transformed into "Sounds Town," by artist and illustrator collaboration Stina Puotinen (Islington Mill) and David Bailey, along with plenty of great drinks from the pubs serving as venues, and the best atmosphere of any inner-city festival.
