For those unfamiliar with the name, ERIK RUIN is equal parts artist, craftsman and performer - three things that one can rarely excel at simultaneously, yet the Philadelphian maverick seems to pull it all off pretty well.
Offering a delicately beautiful combination of paper cuttings, shadow-work and puppetry, his latest triumph continues an ongoing tradition of free-flowing imagery and themes driven by classic storytellers, such as Dante and Homer.
His rich visuals also offer a sense of moving intricacy that - unlike the usual clunkiness brought by wooden puppetry - can only truly be demonstrated by a material as light and delicate as paper.
What's more, the performance will also be accompanied by an equally as meticulous soundtrack, led by local musicians and frequent Ruin collaborators the Ominous Cloud Ensemble.
The rather aptly entitled LONG/GONE is also said to span an incredible 100 feet in length - naturally, each and every one of these feet will be arriving in it's full glory to Salford's Islington Mill on Thursday 5th April (tickets here).
