The latest band to grace the post-apocalyptic warehouse of Salford’s most ingenious venue, the White Hotel, is CLINIC. Having now been around for over 20 years, Clinic has proven to be an underrated gem in the indie/art rock scene.

The Liverpudlian rock group are known for their groovy keyboards, zany vocals and bizarre chord progressions. Since 1997 they’ve been winding their way through record after record, with an unmistakable consistency in song-writing.From their chaotic debut, Internal Wrangler, right up until the more melodic 2012 album Free Reign, the band have shown a remarkable gift for off-beat yet ludicrously catchy pop tunes, with the odd bit of experimentation thrown in for good measure.

The bands wacky live presence, generally involving surgical garments and over the top vocal performances, has helped them to gain them a keen following on the live circuit.

While they haven’t released any material in the last few years, hopes are that some will burst out in this set, alongside previous idiosyncratic favourites. The band have previously toured with Radiohead, Arcade Fire and The Flaming Lips, however a headline show in an intimate setting like the White Hotel is surely the best way to experience a band so unequivocally in your face.

For a particularly eccentric introduction to the band, or a welcome return for die-hard fans, catch Clinic at The White Hotel on Friday 27 April 2018.
