Low on cash, but sick of staying in with nowt but Netflix to entertain you? Welcome to SKINT - your weekly guide to the Best Free Shit in Greater Manchester.

Spring is here (apparently), so make the most of the better-than-average weather with our top pics for April Fool's week:

If you like to keep it traditional at Easter - that is, kicking back with plenty of suds, scran and sweet tunes - then look no further than the Pilcrow Pub. They'll make your day with craft beers, chow from the Blue Caribou Canteen & music from Aficianado Recordings.

MONDAY (02/04/18): Film Nite Presents: The Matrix @ Three Minute Theatre

Located on the ground floor of Affleck’s Palace, this humble theatre hosts some of the finest, wackiest comedy, spoken word and theatre performances in the city. Their infamous Film Nite is one of the jewels in the crown, and what's more, you get to see your favourite films for £3 (or less if you're REALLY skint).

Got an eye for illustration and super-cute animation? Meet Maisy, the newest artsy name on the block, as she launches her Summer Exhibition at Northern Quarter's endlessly hip Night & Day - which, coincidentally, is the focus of her brilliant work.

Nature, humanity and euphoria? no, it's not a raucous night out at a dirty Mancunian club, but a guided tour of Annie Swynnerton's artistic gems. As the first woman to be elected to the Royal Academy of Art - and a proud Mancunian - Manchester Art Gallery are proud to offer this rare glimpse into over 30 works from this ethereal pioneer.

Music nourishes the soul, especially when it's super sad. Or free. Luckily, this week you can catch plenty of melancholic vibes courtesy of Band on the Wall, with free performances from Treason, The Cosmics, The Reckid & Sioux.
