It's areet to be sad

It’s okay to be sad every once in a while, I say and look to you but I know it is not enough as you are biting down on the side of your lip and I cannot see your thumbs why are you always hiding your thumbs

It is okay to cry. You will never cry outside and say you’d only ever seen your dad cry once and I realised I’d never seen my dad cry but I did not say.

Your torso is almost reflective of the lamp light and you say you don’t give a fuck that happiness only exists in the presence of its antonym because you are sad all the time.

You change the subject and laugh about how we fucked last night and say it was good fun even though we’ve fucked twelve times and you asked me or eight of those and I think perhaps that the fact you feel strange crying in front of your mates is connected to why you don’t want to tell any of them about me.
